So far, the project has been rejected by Community Board 3 but approved by Community Board 7 and Borough President Helen Marshall. Marshall's approval came on July 2nd, after a hearing where speakers were almost unanimous in their opposition. Her main stipulation was that taxpayer funding be set aside for highway ramps so that the project may proceed.
The City Planning Commission hearing is the last time the public will have the chance to testify before the project comes before the City Council.
